Australian Breastfeeding Association — breastfeeding lying down
Great page covering the basics of breastfeeding while lying down, and this site also includes current research on safe co-sleeping. Lots of great info on why it helps to keep babies close by, even at night. Excellent reference list of current literature on sleep.

BC Lactation Consultants Association
This website helps you locate an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant in your area in British Columbia. This site, offered by International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) and other health professionals who wish to protect, support and promote breastfeeding, also shares info on sleep solutions that support breastfeeding families. The BCLCA works to make breastfeeding the norm in British Columbia and provides news, press releases and stories of interest to parents and the public.

Breastfeeding Cafe
Good website by well-known breastfeeding advocate and educator, Barbara Behrmann, Ph.D. This site’s advisory board includes Diane Wiessinger, MS, IBCLC. Breastfeeding Cafe includes articles on many aspects of breastfeeding, such as birth and breastfeeding, breastfeeding older kids, working and breastfeeding, breastfeeding in public, and the politics of breastfeeding.

Breastfeeding With Grace
The author has been a La Leche League leader since 1975 and is also an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant with extensive clinical experience. Breastfeeding With Grace is based in the U.S. but this site has lots of info and links for parents anywhere to explore.

Great website featuring Dr. Newman’s articles and more, as well as an online breastfeeding course, and online store.

Bright Future Lactation Resource Centre
Linda J. Smith, MPH, FACCE, IBCLC, FILCA is a lactation consultant, childbirth educator, author, and internationally-known consultant on breastfeeding and birthing issues. Lots of resources (classes, books, and online articles) for those who work with breastfeeding moms or someone who wants to become a lactation consultant.

International Breastfeeding Centre
This site includes a lot of useful information on breastfeeding concerns, including those of a medical nature, such as jaundice and drugs in relation to breastfeeding, including domperidone that can be prescribed to increase milk production. Also features Dr. Newman’s handouts for parents and great videos to help you learn about latching, breast compression to increase milk, and more.

La Leche League Canada
To encourage, promote, and provide mother-to-mother breastfeeding support. See publications and monthly mother-to-mother meetings they offer across Canada — all women interested in breastfeeding are welcome to attend. Anytime is a good time to come to a La Leche League meeting: when pregnant, with a new baby or when considering weaning. There are also books for sale that you will not find in mainstream bookstores.

La Leche League International
Their goal is: to help mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information, and education and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and mother. This site has great articles on a wide variety of breastfeeding-related issues, many written by parents, and all are designed to be of interest specifically to parents.

Low Milk Supply/Oversupply
This excellent website helps parents find lactation consultants worldwide who specialize in milk production issues, including milk oversupply and forceful milk flow. The website covers many aspects of milk production, supplementation, causes of low milk, how to increase milk, and how to deal with oversupply and forceful milk flow. Also includes a directory of lactation consultants who specialize in these challenges.

The Natural Child Project

IBFAN
Award-winning international organization, the International Baby Food Action Network aims to educate about global measures to protect, promote and support breastfeeding. They also focus on infant safety, trade issues, maternal health, and parenting rights.

INFACT Canada
Non-governmental, non-profit organization, the Infant Feeding Action Coalition works to improve the health and well-being of infants and young children through the protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding. Offers information to groups and individuals about the International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes, World Breastfeeding Week, breastfeeding resources and news, and information on latest breastfeeding research.

Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding
This online publication by the Baby Friendly Breastfeeding Initiative features some excellent information by world experts, and an amazing video of a newborn self-attaching to the breast, as well as plenty of articles on breastfeeding advocacy.

WABA
Founded in 1991, World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action is a global network of organizations and individuals who believe breastfeeding is the right of all children and mothers and who dedicate themselves to protect, promote and support this right. WABA acts on the Innocenti Declaration and works in close liaison with UNICEF.
